Well…our inaugural event is behind us. Yesterday we successfully, I think we can call it that – it was great, held our first AVEH event! Thanks everyone for coming out and spending time with us. It was a long day but certainly well worth it. We had 13 meetings with 13 really interesting Austin based entrepreneurs, all with intriguing ideas – many already have their products launched and in a number of cases some pretty interesting traction. Markets that were represented included digital stock photography, content/commerce for online pets, online education, hiring, local search and much more. We had a blast and the event only further confirmed that Austin is one of the best places to find great entrepreneurs and great ideas. We’ll be announcing out next Austin event shortly so be on the lookout. And Dallas, get ready we’re coming up in January. Thanks everyone, and we want to hear from you – give us your feedback!

Thank you to the Austin entrepreneurial community for the strong response to this event. We received many more meeting requests than we anticipated, making our job of narrowing the list very difficult. We actually ended up expanding the event to 13 meetings! We also appreciate the interest from other cities like Houston, Dallas, and even El Paso. We limited this event to Austin based companies as we plan to hold events specific to additional cities in Q4 of 2008 or Q1 of 2009 at the latest.
The schedule for September 22nd at the Belmont is below. We will have a designated table in the back room, so please join us at the indicated time slot. Each team will have 20 minutes for discussion. We will be using the last 10 minutes of each time slot to prepare for the next meeting so we can hit the ground running. Thanks again and we look forward to meeting all of you. Austin Ventures’ Entrepreneur Hours first event:

Where: The Belmont – 350 W. 6th Street
Sign-up: Send an email to entrepreneurhours@austinventures.com and let us know who you are and what you would like to discuss. We will distribute/post time slots by September 18th.
Format: We will have a table in the back room. Each entrepreneur/team will have 20 minutes to discuss the topic of their choice with members of our venture team. Feel free to bring any additional materials. We hope to fill 10 time slots for our first event.
